How to add a second domain in cPanel and launch another website?

This guide is prepared for AroksDS clients who have an active hosting account.
The first domain is assigned automatically during account creation.
Depending on your hosting plan, you may add one or several additional websites.
Below is a full step-by-step guide on how to do it yourself.

1. Check whether your hosting plan supports additional domains

Most AroksDS plans allow:

  • adding a second domain,
  • creating a separate website in its own directory,
  • running multiple projects under one account.

If you are unsure, check the plan description or contact support.

2. Log in to cPanel

Open the panel.

On the main page find the Domains section.

Click Domains or Create A New Domain.

Domains

3. Adding a new domain

In the domain creation form:

Field “Domain”

Enter your second domain, e.g.:
mojastrona2.pl

Option „Share document root…”

Checked — the domain will display the same website as the primary domain (alias/parked domain).

Unchecked — a separate directory and an independent website will be created.
This is the most common option.

Document Root

After unchecking the shared root option, a directory field will appear.
cPanel will automatically suggest something like:
/home/user/moja_druga_strona.pl

This is the directory where you will upload files or install WordPress.

Subdomain

The system will automatically create a technical subdomain — no changes needed.

Click Submit.

4. Domain DNS configuration

For the domain to work, DNS must be set correctly.

Option A — the domain uses AroksDS NS servers

Nothing else is required.
The DNS zone will be created automatically.

Option B — the domain is registered with another provider (GoDaddy, OVH, Aftermarket)

Log in to the registrar panel and set:

the name servers (NS) provided by AroksDS
or
an A record pointing to the hosting server’s IP.

You can find the IP in cPanel → General Information → Shared IP Address.

DNS propagation may take up to 24 hours.

5. Checking domain functionality

After adding the domain and DNS propagation:

  1. if the directory is empty, you will see the hosting default page,
  2. if the wrong website appears, check whether you selected a separate Document Root.

6. Installing WordPress

After adding the domain:

WordPress Management

  1. Go to cPanel → Domains → WordPress Management.
  2. Click “Install WordPress”.
  3. Select the domain from the list.
  4. In the Installation path field select the domain where WordPress should be installed.
  5. Fill in the installation settings:
    – site title,
    – admin username and password,
    – admin email address,
    – WordPress language.
  6. Click Install.
  7. Go to cPanel → Software → MultiPHP Manager.
  8. Select the domain from the list.
  9. Choose the latest PHP version and click “Apply”.
  10. In WordPress Management you can enable website lockdown during development.
